It was at this time that the Samguk sagi, also known as 'History of the Three Kingdoms' first appeared in 1145 CE.

Academics and analysts are divided on the extent to which Korea's development is influenced by these two trends. This article examines the five phases of Korea's development in terms of its political development that include democratically illiberal democracies (1945-60) democratic autoritarianism (1961-72) authoritarian exceptionalism (1972-1877), democratic paternalism (2001-2002) and democratic participation (2002). This article also highlights important factors that appear to be shaping these processes.

In South Korea, 26 percent of the population is Christian. Creationists have made strides in promoting their views to this group. A 2009 survey showed that almost one-third of respondents were against evolution. Of the respondents, 41% stated that there wasn't enough scientific evidence to support evolution 39% claimed that the theory did not align with their beliefs; and 17% said it was difficult to grasp. This level of disbelief is comparable to that in the United States, where a similar number of people do not accept that humans evolved from less advanced species of life.
In the past, the majority of the anti-evolution movements in Korea was focused on teaching college students and in bringing them to Christ. A significant increase in the interest in creation science occurred in the year 1980, when there was an all-day seminar that was held during the World Evangelization Crusade in Seoul which included Drs. Henry Morris and Duane Gish of ICR as the keynote speakers. The event was attended by a large number of pastors, professors, church leaders and scientists.
The success of this event resulted in the creation of the Korea Association of Creation Research (KACR) on January 31st 1981. KACR began publishing a monthly newsletter called CREATION, in which it covered its activities and also published articles on scientific evidence for creationism.
