1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is located on the outside of the transmission, above the flywheel ring. This sensor sends signals through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then uses this information to control fuel, timig and boost. It also sends an alert to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is located so that it can trigger spark and injectors accordingly.

If this sensor fails to function, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This means that the Crank Shaft is not in line with the Intake Camshaft. It could also indicate an issue with the chain or a jumpy chain link in the upper chain of timing. The code will not appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing is a bit challenging because there are two connector pins, and they perform different functions but the most effective way to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read about 1000 ohms when it is operating at its maximum. Check for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have problems with this part.

2. Injectors

Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, i experienced an abrupt drop in power like the engine is out of gas or the injectors aren't firing anymore. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, 3 were drenched in gazoline, the 4th one was dry. When I crank the engine, there are no sparks i put tissue on the top of each hole in the injector and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline pop out, but the 4th stays closed. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 i get zero Ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is in another location.

I also tried to reset the PID without success.
