The grey wire is located on the outside of the transmission, above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends an electrical signal through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then uses this information to control the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends a signal to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is located so that it can start spark and injectors accordingly.

I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I found zero ohm. I assume that the problem is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car is able to start when the G28 is unplugged and it runs perfectly when it is connected, but still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even when unplugged, still shows temperatures of -49c. I also noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit shows 2 bar, whereas the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.

I'm not sure what to do, but i feel i have pretty much ruled out everything else. But i am afraid i might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump
