He, therefore, would not support Netaji Subhas Bose in his attempts to promote the cause of Indian independence by securing the military aid of Germany or of Japan, but he agreed with other Congress leaders that India would fully co-operate with Great Britain if only the latter would give definite assurance of granting full freedom to India after the War.
