It can be a bit difficult to test as there are different pins on the connector and each has its own functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. If the sensor is operational, it should read about 1000 ohms. Examine for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a massive decrease in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs. Three were drenched with gazoline the fourth was dry. When i crank the engine without sparks, i place a tissue on the top of each of the injector holes and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline pop out, but the 4th one stays closed. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I found zero ohm. I assume that the problem is in another location.
I also tried to reset PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it works fine when the G28 connected. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when it is unplugged, shows temperatures of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars while the actual pressure is zero.
I'm not sure what to do. I think I've eliminated everything else. But i'm worried that I may have missed something. Please let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal sent from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sensor is identical to the G4 and they both work in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a junkyard or from a parts store. Test them out - put your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from the left on the black connector's side).
