Married At First Sight Australia star Jules Robinson has revealed she filmed the entire series in 'uncomfortable' shapewear that left her struggling to go to the toilet.

The reality star, 41, is set to launch her inclusive FIGUR shapewear range in the UK for the first time, and in an exclusive interview with MailOnline, explained that it was own unpleasant experience that inspired her to create the collection.

Jules, who married Cameron Merchant on the show back in 2019, explained she would hold up filming while using the toilet as it took so long to remove her shapewear and dress.

She added that her own shapewear brand, which she originally launched in Australia back in 2020, caters to all shapes and sizes, and most importantly, can be easily removed for toilet breaks.

She explained: 'When I was on Married At First Sight I wore shapewear for three months, and I was so uncomfortable, and it was constantly rolling down or rolling up.

Oh dear! Married At First Sight Australia star Jules Robinson has revealed she filmed the entire series in 'uncomfortable' shapewear that left her struggling to go to the toilet

Glam: The reality star, who married Cameron Merchant on the show in 2019, explained she would hold up filming while using the toilet as it took so long to remove her shapewear

'And then coming off the show and having such a lovely response from the female viewers about the way that I dressed and my confidence.... they were saying things like ''I have a body like yours and then I want to dress like you.''

Jules added that she did face body-shaming trolls during her time on the show, but decided to use her experience to 'make something that feels great.'

'So that's really where, it wasn't a planned thing, It was literally the lightbulb moment where I just look like I'm gonna make shapewear I want to make, the best pair of shapewear,' she said.

'So I have made a FIGUR that you can go to the toilet and leave it on. They were one one of the main things was that I'd be at the dinner parties and go to the toilet, and I'd be gone just so long because I've got to have my dress on the floor, I'd have my shapewear on the floor and I'd be holding my microphone, tucked in my hair, completely naked!'

'This is not a seamless way of going to the toilet, especially if you're wearing a nice dress, you don't want to take it off and put it on the floor and obviously, being on set, they're like, ''come on you're taking so long''.

'So I resolved all those issues and the shapewear doesn't roll up or down, and you can go the toilet in it and it's super comfortable.'

Jules went onto tell MailOnline that she was caught off-guard by the 'mind-blowing' trolling she faced while on MAFS, and has had to grow a 'thick skin' to overcome it.

She continued: 'It's not pretty, it's mind-blowing really, like what you get from other people, and nothing can really prepare you for that kind of aspect of the dark side of going on television.

Sensational! Jules is set to launch her FIGUR shapewear range in the UK for the first time, and explained that it was her own unpleasant experience that inspired her to create the collection

Proud: She explained: 'When I was on Married At First Sight I wore shapewear for three months, and I was so uncomfortable, and it was constantly rolling down or rolling up'

'So that's come with a lot of self-care and just learning to deal with that, you know all the rookie mistakes and stuff in that world? You read comments and Theanex testimonials you read things like that, which is not smart.

'When people come to me and say ''I'm going on there, can you give me some advice,'' and I'm like, ''I know it's really hard, but don't read comments.''

'If it's out of sight, it's out of mind it doesn't matter, but you know that just comes with time and now you just don't see those things anymore because we choose not to.

'So that's a really hard aspect of it, but it's unfortunately something that you've got to have a thick skin and go ''I like me and I'm happy with me and words don't really matter.''

Jules explained that her FIGUR shapewear range caters for sizes from 6 to 24, and alongside its UK launch, she's unveiled an ambassador programme featuring an array of women modelling the collection.

Despite the progress in body diversity in fashion in recent years, Jules told MailOnline that there is still more to be made.

She said: 'I think so much, even in the last five years where there's so much more diversity in advertising and to me that was why I thought to myself, if women are seeing themselves in me like a lot of my comments are like ''it's so great seeing a curvy woman.'''

'I feel like you're really representing. I guess I was a little bit older than most people on reality television and I thought, well, if most people see themselves in me.

'I want people to see themselves in reflection too. And feel inspired by these other women.

Tough: She said that she did face body-shaming trolls during her time on the show, but decided to use her experience to 'make something that feels great'

'So that's why with my campaigns, I always use all different ages, shapes and sizes, my oldest ambassador is 78 years old. And my youngest is about 25.

'So to me it was like this. someone sitting at home and they feel like they don't see themselves in advertising, and they know that's not gonna fit, that doesn't feel nice because all they really want is to feel seen, heard and represented. So that's where my thought process was doing that.

'But I definitely think it is changing, in regards to fashion though, it's not exactly really there, and there are a lot of big labels they will have all-wear inclusive, but you go into the store and they only have up to size 14-16, anything above is only online and so there's not enough stock of that to put into all those.

'So it's getting there, but it's still not 100% the size inclusive for all things, I know myself, the reason I need more is because going to shops and I couldn't find anything that fitted me and I walk away feeling so upset.

'You know when you're going out and you wanna find somebody around. You're like, there's nothing that suits my body like that. It's just such a horrible feeling.

'So I think it's definitely changing. And that's because of online influencers and you know anyone can be a model. It's how you work it and having that confidence.'

Jules said she's had a hugely positive reaction to her range in Australia, and hopes to have a similar support from British fans.

She and Cam were first married on MAFS' 2019 series, which became a runway hit when it aired in the UK during the 2021 Covid lockdown.

While many of the couples failed to make to the final vows, their romance has stood the test of time, and they are proud parents to son Oliver.

Jules has relocated to the UK to launch her new FIGUR range, and shared her plans to unveil the collection with a classic London bus touring the capital.

Happier than ever! Jules and Cam's relationship is still going strong four years after being matched up by the MAFS experts, and they're proud parents to son Oliver

The reality star has been juggling launching the range with raising her son Oliver, who turns three in October, and admitted she's been navigating the so-called 'terrible twos.'

She said: 'He was just the chilledest child, so chilled and then something happens like a magic wand and they just change. Yeah, he's feisty. He's got a lot of energy and a lot of fun but definitely you just got to try everywhere.

'Cam and I listen to audios... and I just navigate our way through this time. You know, they go nought to 100, but to be fair, he's been amazing.

'He's adjusted so well with all the travelling and the time zones and he's been a proper little trooper. So yeah, no, he's great. He's a good boy.'

Jules also shared her hopes that she and Cam could have another child in the future, after revealing they would consider IVF to expand their family.

She added: 'Yeah, I think that if it doesn't happen naturally, it's definitely something that we can look into the future. We really want that to happen for us, so we're prepared to do what we have to do.'

Jules is launching her range in the UK with a pre-order discount, available at myfigur.com.
