WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or has a high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will show the item's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.
