The EV Star REEFERX was designed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. GreenPower has joined forces with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to easily change to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be able to support wireless charging at 75 kW.

We were able to test drive the EV9 on the local highway for green power scooters a few hours. We found it to be easy to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The EV9 is able to suppress the sound of traffic and wind driving on the highway. It rides smoothly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is extremely quick, and the car comes with adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by lifting the accelerator.

The EV9 has a great range and can be fully charged within three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. The driver can choose from two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on torque as well as cruise control and handling while sport mode focuses on speed. GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration which wants to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be Altoona-tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA conforming. This will make them eligible for federal transit grants.
