1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floorplans that avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have the feature of Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept in removing dog hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.
It's still a great option for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with one that is wet in just a few just a few seconds.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to sweep the entire house, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically fills up its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. With an elegant, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our evaluations. It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.
Its vacuum has a high suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

A stairway mode is beneficial if you have number of furniture. Finally the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is great for busy families.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It's a pro at vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.
The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map.
